The storms rolled in around 1:00 and aside from our weather radio warnings – I didn’t hear a thing! Carlo has to leave this morning but he’ll be back in six days! Doesn’t look like I’ll get much done today – the porch is soaked so the staining is on hold and it is forecasted as another hot and humid day. Hmmmm – what to do? The number of butterflies that have been “sunning” themselves has been incredible. I guess all those caterpillars finally evolved. There are also a lot of spiders everywhere as well – lots of spiders. I might have even been bitten by one…seriously, they’re everywhere!

After Carlo left, I put a little seed in the back feeder and watched the birds for a bit. Even the hummingbird population seemed to have exploded. While the birds indulged themselves in the morsels in the back, the squirrels and chipmunks were ravaging the feeders in the front. There were several “fat” gray squirrels and the same of the “red”. They were running and tree jumping like crazy and one of the gray squirrels was hanging on a feeder from the pole. How the heck did he even get to that feeder? I enjoyed a lazy vacation afternoon watching TV and the wildlife. There were so many birds, including a cardinal. There is also an abundance of “ground-life” which consisted of turkeys and a woodchuck!

I wrapped a bit of vine around the trellis, hoping it realizes that it's being trained!

By 9:00 pm the winds were fierce and the trees were bending in all directions as the thunder started in the golden-red colored sky. It was dark out – yet bright and scary. I decided to go to bed and get a jump on the storm as I heard the rain falling through the trees. I’d rather sleep through it than not!
