I woke up around 1:30 in the morning to find that the hummingbird feeder, that I had such a hard time getting to fit on the hook, was gone. I’ve had it with this raccoon that is raiding everything. There were several hummingbirds fluttering about which was why I hung a fresh filler feeder out for them. Now they’re still hungry AND I am pissed!
I got up for the day around 7:00 to clean and of course have coffee. By 10:00 the sun was trying to come out but it is humid. The birds, squirrels and chipmunks were acting crazy...probably due to the sudden surge of food they were able to enjoy!

I scoped out the potential placement of the shrubs. While I was outside, I picked up the hummingbird feeders (yes, plural) and found that the hanging strap was broken…most likely by the fat ass that was hanging on it for his midnight drink! More feeders bite the dust. Birds kept flying into the door, so I put a little feed into the last hanging feeder. It’s weird because the feed didn’t have any seeds in it, so I guess the feed is not bird feed!
Carlo arrived around 12:30 and it was just in time for lunch. BBQ dogs, brats and sausage – take your pick – all were yummy! We watched TV, met with Jim – the excavator – and got ready for our evening plans with Debbie and John. We gave them the 2 cent tour, the nickel tour would have required they go through it twice or get a refund! Then we went to LaTolteca for margaritas and dinner. We had a great time and look forward for a chance to get together with them again, the next time we’re all up here at the same time! We needed to pick up a few forgotten items from Wal-Mart and were back to O’Wich by 10:30 – overall, it was an awesome day!
