As you can see, there was no crashing! Insert a THANK GOODNESS right here!!! They got the beam up in place and Garry said it was very heavy and he needed to get another guy to help with that. The porch floor was 1 1/2" higher than the living room and kitchen floors, so he had to remove all the deck boards. He put 1/2" OSB under the porch floor so they could insulate. The heat duct is going in between the two windows. They will be getting 5/8" thick of 4x8 sheets of OSB to match the original flooring height. They have the ceiling, walls and floor insulated. This is going to be one toasty room in the cabin. Carlo asked them to have the walls be 6" thick rather than 4" to accomodate thicker insulation. There is a sheet of plastic across the beam from the floor to the ceiling to keep the heat in the cabin. Phew...this was more work than I first anticipated! Actually I am glad to NOT be there for this!!! They still have all exterior and interior finish work to do, but it's moving along very well!
