No need for an alarm clock or even a rooster…between the sun and the chirping birds I eased into waking up after a good night of sleep. Some birds have nested into the birdhouses that, sadly, are falling apart from the weather. I put them on the rail of the deck landing and the birds are all over them – hopping from one to the other!

Checking out the bathroom, I noticed that the ceiling dried a different white from the previous ceiling white. My first chore was to paint the edges in an effort to get it to match. While waiting for it to dry I had some work things to get done. Once the ceiling was dry, I painted the walls. Of course this chore was not without incident. I fell off the step stool, cut my arm on who knows what and Fluffy Biscuit flew everywhere! A second coat was still needed so back up on my horse I went…I mean step stool. Got just enough paint left for touch ups…phew! It looks great. After the trim is installed it’ll be time to tile. Who knows how long this will take to dry. The storms rolled in and from the time between the lightning and the thunder (which was zero) the storms were overhead. The thunder shook the entire cabin. I was thankful to not have to finish painting in the dark and glad to have not lost power. Other things tackled on my short list included cooking for Carlo’s birthday – which is tomorrow and he is expected here – hopefully in time for dinner!
I am so glad I brought my iPod and the 1386 songs that are on it. I must say... I have quite a diverse music collection – now if I could get the songs from my iPhone to my iPod I’d be even happier! (I’m so technically challenged).
The storms have caused a stain delay for the deck. Three days of sunshine are in the forecast for the end of next week so maybe then! By 5:15 the cabin was, once again, clean, leftover cod was enjoyed, tomorrow night’s dinner and appetizer are done and my sore body could barely move. I’m thinking it’s an Advil kinda night with a side of soft pillow and my blanket!
