‘Nothing’ woke me during the night – I hope it’s because ‘nothing’ was there to wake me! After finding three acorns in the bedroom yesterday, I wasn’t sure if the ‘nothing’ that brought them would be dropping them on my head during the night. Luckily…’nothing’ happened and I slept great! I enjoyed coffee at daybreak while the birds seem to sing items for me to add to my To-Do and shopping lists. Oh? Thanks! Almost forgot that! As I added birdseed to the list! Not even here 24 hours and I’m talking to the birds! Gotta love vacation!
My day was a trip to Do-It Best for stain and paint and then Pierce’s for groceries. $300 later and I was back by 11:15 and in the 15 minutes it took to unload the car, I was the human version of a Defense Max No-Pest Strip; which by the way I need to buy one for my car since they swarmed in when I opened the door! Tons to do this vacation; today I cleaned the tile in the bathroom (the best I could), painted the ceiling, stained the door and the bathroom trim, put knobs on the laundry cabinet (it’s not for laundry, or even laundry supplies, but it was called a laundry cabinet so therefore is known as the laundry cabinet), replaced the mechanism and hands to the bathroom clock, patched some holes on the bathroom walls, and cleaned the bathroom floor – again. Somewhere during all of this, I sliced my finger open, near my palm – not once, not twice but three times. I didn’t even know it until it started hurting. Is there a doctor in the cabin?

After the blood stopped, I grilled a pretty wicked awesome dinner – on the menu was a grilled cod fillet, grilled squash, red pepper and pineapple. I must say it was pretty frickin’ awesome…even the mosquitoes were swarming the grill, which was weird considering the heat was almost at 500 degrees. I guess they are resilient little boogers. When the world comes to an end there’s a chance the cockroaches will not be the only survivors!
By 7:00 I was resting, tired and sore. I think I’ll skip my evening nap and go straight to bed!
