Car packed – check
Body in vacation mode - check…check
Oh, never mind – en route to O’Wich – CHECK!
Almost to my exit, just past the Rest Area, had been the home of a barn I had been keeping an eye on for the last almost 5 years. Through the years, the barn bulged, the silo was removed and finally during my last drive, it finally collapsed. This trip, I was unable to take any photos as I drove, but all signs of the barn and its silo were gone - entirely. Here is the first (Jan 2007) and last (April 2011) photos I have of this old barn...

I arrived by 8:15 which was good timing; although there was minimal traffic which made up for the three reduced speed areas due to…wait for it…c-o-n-s-t-r-u-c-t-i-o-n!
I surveyed the property to find the fire pit full of stuff. Looks like the fire pit re-building project may get back burnered. I’m sure Carlo will be terribly disappointed – NOT!

The back deck rails look incredible and as good as they look, it looks like I’m gonna be “incredibly” busy! Rounding the deck to the side I see my six hedges have not died as someone had hoped that they would. They must have deep sea DNA in them to have survived the flood – (clearing throat) – two floods.

Everything is over grown, the grass needs cutting, the trees all have leaves. From the tire tracks that my eyes followed, I noticed all the cut tree debris that was at the front of the property is gone. Not sure where it went or who took it, but at least it’s gone!

Entering the cabin I wasn’t sure what to expect. Some things I did not expect – okay – I expected nothing and found my expectations to be above and below the nothing bar! The cabin was dirty from the construction and a kitchen tile was damaged (not expected)…

the patio door is great (expected)…the bathroom is awesome (exceeded expectations)!

I began cleaning with wiping out the fridge, dusting, wiping the walls, washing the floors and windows and vacuuming. Under a minute to write about it – five hours to live it!
After a quick lunch and unable to get the satellite or antenna to work, I hooked up my iPod, unloaded the car and visited with Betty. The rest of the day I read, played WWF, and of course napped. I only napped until it was time for bed!!!
