The day started with what we thought was a great plan….BEEP! Plan; busted! Didn’t leave until almost 8:00 am, and our first stop was at a tile store – of course they didn’t have what we wanted. Once back on the road and merely a block away, we cracked a U-turn since there was a tile store on the other side of the road. They did have some decorative tiles we liked – so we bought those! We hit the road again, stopping at White Castle before getting on the toll way. We didn’t stop again until we pulled into the gas station with about 2 gallons to spare…thank goodness we had a tail wind rather than a head wind! Maybe it was the lucky elephants that were looming overhead as we drove!
We finally made it to O’Wich at 1:00 pm but we were both exhausted from the drive and from working. We only had one visitor after we arrived, a doe, munching on whatever feast she found lying in the driveway.
We put our shopping list together for our upcoming projects that have all been postponed until tomorrow. After unloading and setting up the scarecrow, we didn’t do much but watch TV, nap, skip dinner and go to bed!
